Activated Carbon Purifier Working Principle

Activated Carbon (AC) is a form of carbon with a lot of small, low-volume pores. Its surface area is available for adsorption. Just one gram of activated carbon has a surface area over 500 m2 as Wikipedia said.

 

The main function of Activated Carbon Filter is to remove organic matters and odor. Contaminants are also removed more effectively if they are in contact with activated carbon for a longer time.
